Record Label

Swaggalicious Records is a stable that aims to unearth the raw musical talent from South Africa’s townships. Through the label we hope to create a platform where young aspiring urban gospel artists can be launched, and then unleashed into the world to reach their full potential.

In 2010 the stable afforded 7 young Capetonians the opportunity to record an EP consisting of original music that they wrote, produced and rapped and sang on. The music was play listed on a community station, and through the exposure, they had the opportunity to perform live at various events around Cape Town including being supporting acts in Flame’s Captured African tour. This group of young people are now equipped with greater knowledge, experience and exposure which will hopefully stand them in good stead in their future musical endeavors.

Our goal is to facilitate the building of relationships between local urban gospel artists and like-minded international producers, in the hope of enhancing the quality of the music that we make. We would also like to someday put our own local urban gospel artists on a platform where their gifts are recognized and appreciated.

Our forthcoming projects will be a House and Hip Hop compilation CD which will feature a wide spectrum of unsigned local and international artists. Watch this space…
